A wall, with its graffiti and its secrets, alternates as a playground and a refuge from the world for five characters.A wall, with its graffiti and its secrets, alternates as a playground and a refuge from the world for five characters. It echoes the whispers and murmurings of earlier times. Mur-Mur (The Wall) speaks of the friendships among two teenage couples and a pesky and incorrigible younger brother. With humour and sheer innocence, these five characters are swept up in an air-bound acrobatic ballet.
Their flirting, teasing and fearlessness become a moving and scintillating reflection of a very special time in life, a world of young love and discovery. Dialogue is kept to a bare minimum, leaving way to soaring and explosive gymnastics.
Telling of quarrels, shared schemes and stolen kisses, the acrobatic choreography allows the performers to unleash their energy as well as their acrobatic virtuosity in the exploration of the exuberant eloquence of movement.
“This brand of acrobatic theater is still theater, with plots, themes, and characters. The group ... simply drives its narratives with back flips and cartwheels more than with dialogue.”
“Montreal's DynamO Theatre company can make anybody laugh - as well as oooh and aaah and erupt in spontaneous applause."
Chalk this up as one of the most outstanding shows ever to play the Calgary Children’s Festival. ...excitingly physical, strikingly visual performance...”
